The hotel's ballroom boasted of 400 tables, when the banquet hall was used to its full extent. As it was, they had about a third of the space rented out for this 'high tea party'. Ten tables were dedicated to multiple bite sized flavours of cakes and mousses. Another table had an ice cream sundae bar. There were well over twenty different tea bags available and far too many teapots and tea cups for them.
The decor was that of a Winter's wonderland (not the dessert palace owned by La-Pokafe). And boasted of light blues and shades of light grey. Hardly any imperfections to be found. Like perfect snowflakes.
At each table, on top of the settings that pro-offered cutlery and plates to use for dining: there is an envelope. At each place, just before a chair. Inside these envelopes were conversation starters. Some with crude jokes, barely toeing the line for an affair such as this. Others had ice-breaker questions, such as asking for one's favourite colour. Their favourite pet. Or the best Christmas they've had. Just something to get the ball rolling, hopefully.
And the host Darkrai moved from table to table, wearing a smirk as he greeted each guest that entered...guests were free to flit from table to table. But the bosses were assuredly stuck in their "place of honour", as it were.

Ericka had arrived not too long after entry was allowed as she had been anticipating this event for some time now. She had already found her way to the many tables dedicated to the delicacies provided by the host, having to restrain herself from shoveling them into her mouth. Instead, she took the bit sized cakes and mini tarts, savoring the sweetness of each. Never had she been to such a high class event, so it would be smart to be on her best behavior and not make a fool of herself. She allowed her gaze to wander around the establishment to see what other guests would be attracted.

Brooke looked around the large room, suddenly feeling self conscious and out of place.
The Marill had learned about the tea party between the cafes that was being held. Deciding that it wouldn't be a bad idea to get to know her fellow workers and the other cafes employees. Plus, she couldn't resist the idea of the amount of story potential a high tea would bring to her writing.
But now... After checking her coat and entering the large room, Brooke was only then hit with the sheer amount of sophistication that this very room seemed to hold. The Hearts waitress could see all the tables which stretched around the ballroom and her nerves began to get the better of her.
'I just hope I look alright,' She thought as she gently tugged the sleeve of her purple jewel tone dress.

Persephone, being the fashion queen she was, strode into the party like she owned the place. Her gown was a beautiful white silk that faded down into a cyan ombre. Her ears had two small snowflake earrings on them, a silver and sapphire necklace held its place on her neck, acting as the eyepeice for the strappless beaded dress. Her hair was done in a wavy updo, a single lock floating down beside her face along side her bangs.
My what a tea party it was, the hummed happily as she took in the decor, spinning happily at the wonders of the event.

Okay. If Brooke hasn't felt intimidated before, she most certainly did now. The cause of such newfound nervousness being mostly due to the woman who just entered.
Having heard that the dress code was somewhat formal but comfortable, the Marill had chosen a long sleeved purple dress that she always liked but never found the chance to wear and a pair of jeweled snowflake hair clips. She had thought she looked alright before but, seeing the woman walk in like she had just stepped out onto a runway and looking like it too... Brooke couldn't help but feel plain in comparison.

Lunis who had snuck in, was stuffing his face in the corner, the dusclops didnt really care about parties, But zeph had said to get out and mingle...the hypocritical asshole. He slunk down and watched the other guests his pink eyes darting around while slowly bring another cake up to his mouth.

Foooooood! Food! A certain pint-sized Arcanine, dressed in a white suit that was obviously either from a secondhand store or big brother, perused -- or, more accurately, stormed -- the dessert tables with all their bite sized cakes and tarts, snatching up various delicious morsels. He wasn't so savage as to eat them at the table, fortunately, instead balancing them in his arms as he made his way to a table. He had a mask on, as was required; after all, he didn't want to flagrantly abuse rules. He was childish, but he had some measure of restraint. Slowing to a stop when he saw the man in the corner stuffing his cheeks like a Dedenne, he felt a strange sort of affinity for the fellow piglet. Comrades in 'come for the food, stay for the food.' When a plate began to tip sideways on his arm, however, Icarus snapped back to reality and practically flew to a table, setting down what looked like at least five small plates. "Food time," he murmured.

The bosses were conversing among themselves quietly. Plans for expansion, perhaps other features to consider? Yet when the Delcatty walked in, the King of Spades turned to watch her. He smiles, and excuses himself from his peers. He walks over to greet the young woman personally, "I'm glad you could make it, Ms Marivoite." Off-handedly, he gave a greeting wave to the Scoliopede. A surprising sight to see, not in her usual trench coat or glaring angrily...or was she glaring? He was too far to tell properly.

Ericka was nearly too distracted by the food to see her boss wave to her, however, she just managed to see the wave and confused expression. She couldn't blame the man, she often had been seen as a stoic security guard, so many where unaware of her normal expression or even smile. Even the fact that she was dressed up would seem odd. Hey. She was a woman too, she liked to look nice every now and then. She waved back to him and nearly choked on the cake bite she was currently ingesting as the delcatty he approached kissed him. She managed to compose herself and avoid a coughing fit that would certainly give her attention. The boss had a girlfriend? This was new to her...however at not much surprise, she barely knew anything about the man.

Seeing that there were more of their employees out and about (relatively speaking). Mr Mount got up, looking and feeling out of place in his white dress shirt and dark slacks. How his muscles did not burst and rip either clothing item apart is a mystery we would not be able to answer. "Mr Ashford! Is that you?" He did not recognize Icarus, per say...more like that fluffy tail looked awfully familiar. And then there was a semi-familiar Marill girl in a corner, but he could not recall her name: so he opted for avoiding the girl for now. He nearly bumped into Ericka on his walk towards Icarus, and only gave a gruff apology as he walked on.

[Spades King Mr Glen and Ms Persephone Marivoite]

"Well, i would never miss a party~ esspecially not something like this mr glen~" the cat giggled, gently leaning up and stealing a peck on his cheek. "You look rather handsome as well, should i be worried about the competition tonight?" She purred, letting her tail swish from side to side

"Suppose you even had competition, I'd only have eyes for you kitten~" Humming, he offer a hand to the lovely Percy. "The dancing will come later, I promise. For now it's like a...meet and greet, shall we say?~"

"My my, you really do know how to flatter a lady, Charming~" she purred, gently placing her hand on his. "And if its a chat you want, well, we both know i never turn down a good convorsation. Lead the way my prince" the cat teased, putting a hand over her face as she gave a light giggle.

"Ah, but we should be mingling too. Have you tried the mousse? It's rather delightful." And off to peruse the array of desserts before them. Will it impress the chef, will it not? Mr Glen could hardly care less--he wasn't the host, but he'd surely play the part.

Percy gave a small purr, happily walking along side her lover towards the deserts "well, i will say that everything at the very least looks pretty. All of the decoration is gorgeous" she hummed, gently grabbing a plate and cup "though i will admit, i am partial to chocolate, so i might be a bit bias on some of the cakes" she giggled, going over and scooping up a small cake slice

The Gardevoir chuckled quietly, "I'll be sure to surprise you on Christmas morning with some chocolate truffles then, home made and all." He probably should feel guilty that he wasn't mingling, but he had sorely missed the cat's company. Christmas season was killer, and a fair number of events around Lumiose wanted catering from Night's --and he wouldn't blame them either. "How's the fort holding down at the Grape? Everything's going well, I presume?~"

"Great! Buisness is going CRAZY, between all the events and dinners weve been hosting. Not to mention all the chrismas parties we've already had... and were completely booked until the 23rd!" She sighed, giving him a gentle nuzzle. "I swear, i havent had a day off since the 29th of novemeber... its nice to get away again. I missed you too much~" the cat purred, holding out a small finger cake for him

"Hm, I'd have to say the same on my end. We've needed to start club hours later, or not start them up at all. People would much prefer dinner reservations over clubbing, it appears." Ah, and speaking of... "Can you make it to dinner on the 23rd? My brother and nephews are coming, but my parents had some last minute business with their funeral arrangements. Planning ahead they say." Smiling, Mr Glen bent down to take a small bite of the offered cake. "Hm, thank you darling~"

"Well, if i can slip out of my kitchen." Percy teased taking a bite of her own little cake before walking with him towards the tea "i could make some time for it i suppose" she sighed, pretending to sound easperated, only to follow with a giggle. "Of course i can. I wouldnt miss a chance to meet your family" she hummed, glancing over and immediately perking up "oh hello, i spy  blueberry lavender~" the cat purred, happily picking up the teabag and a cup.

"Dear gods, you scared me just now kitten." He shakes his head, and leaned down to give her a quick peck. "You needn't go out of your way...I know how much your work means to you." Between her passion for the craft of cooking and what his ESP senses told him, the conclusion was not hard to draw at all. He looked up at the clattering, wondering where it had come from--that flask? What would a flask be doing here... He put the matter out of mind, and poured himself some ginseng tea. A classic brew. "But if you insist, I might have to do more than make some chocolate truffles later on~"

[Lunis brothers and Ms Brooke Springfield]

Looking around, desperately searching for a friendly and familiar face, The Marill breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the dusclops.
"Lunis!" Brooke called as she headed for him.

Cake mid bite Lunis paused and waved at Brooke, having to wipe the cake crumbs on the slacks he obviously borrowed from his older brother. "Hi" he smiled slightly feeling out of place and looking it.

"It feels so good to see a familiar face," Brooke told him before noticing his state of dress.
She couldn't help but chuckle, "Zeph let you borrow some of his clothes, didn't he?"

Lunis looked shamed "y...eah" he rubbed his neck and chuckled, at least he had someone to talk to...he hated parties.

Brooke have him a sympathetic look and apologetic smile.
"I'm sorry," She apologized sincerely, "I shouldn't laugh. I'm just glad your here. Did Zeph come too?"

"he said he might but he pushed me out the door and said to tell him how it is...so i dunno" he grimaced slightly as he thought about it.

Brooke couldn't hold back another chuckle at the image.
"Well, at the very least, I'm happy you came. I was starting to feel a bit nervous being in a place like this."

"Right" Lunis sighed and chilled with Brooke till a shocked expression crossed his face. Zeph had strode in looking dapper in light grey slacks and vest and a black dress shirt. The dusknoir moved around the tables keeping his head high and made his way to Lunis and Brooke before stopping
"i didnt think youd wanna- you drank before this didnt you?"
"nope" Zeph pulled out a small metallic black flask and wiggled it before replacing it in his inner vest. "buuut I will be~" he smiled nicely and Lunis gaped.

Brooke blinked at her taller ghostly friend. She looked at Lunis with wide eyes.
"Should we be worried?" She whispered to him.

Zeph, busy pouring vodka into a cup of tea didnt see Lunis look at Brooke "yes. yes we should be. he has been so good too" he huffed looking more irritated than upset about his brother being the mobile booze machine.

Brooke look back at Zeph, worry taking over her.
"Well... Let's just hope that he doesn't get too carried away." The Marill's nose crinkle at the smell of the vodka her friend/tutor kept pouring, "And be there to keep him from doing something he'll regret once he snaps out of it."

"Do something he'll regret?" he echoed "He's walking regret personified" Lunis grunted as Zeph rejoined them, taking a sip from his own spiked tea.
"nothing interesting seems to be happening ye?" he lifted a brow looking classy somehow.

Brooke shifted a bit.
"Not yet but give it a little bit." She reached up and adjusted her hair clips, "I'm sure that something is going to happen."

Lunis and Zeph seemed to be playing a game of keep away, the Elder brother trying to keep the flask away from Lunis who insisted that Zeph didnt need it. They almost resembled two bickering old people over who yelled bingo first. Suddenly Lunis knocked the flask from his brothers hands the container flying across the room and skittering loudly across the floor. The both of them went silent looking oddly scared.

Brooke flinched at the sound of the flask hitting the floor. Looking between the ghost brothers, she bit her lip nervously. Finally, she sighed.
"Do you guys want me to get it?"

[Party Host Mr Solomon King and Ms Ericka Eldritch]

Ericka didn't seem to notice immediately that the man nearly bumped into her, only when he apologized did she realize the closeness they had. "Mmmm- its fine." She murmured, toothpick between her lips, eyeing the massive man as he passed. She glanced around to spot anyone she could strike up a conversation with, the only thing accompanying her at the time was the wonderful food before her.

Solomon King, the Darkrai host, was gliding about the floor. He had a champagne flute in hand, though it had a brownish tea inside instead of--as one would expect, champagne. Spotting one lone party-guest, he ghosted over to Ericka with a lazy smile. "Now, aren't we a wall flower? Is the party to your liking, miss...?" Sure, he'd invited the lot of them to his event. But did he remember all the names on the guest list? Of course not. What did he look like? A computer? That wasn't how he rolled, no sir.

Ericka looked up from the deserts as a voice spoke that was directed to her. She swallowed her treat before looking up to the Darkrai a bit surprised, recalling this man to be the host. "Ah, Ericka Eldritch." She gave her name before looking up to him "No, the party is lovely, but I can't help that this sophistication is more foreign to me. I'm afraid I'll do something asinine if given the chance." She admitted with a chuckle, glad to have someone to speak to.

"Solomon, Solomon King." He then arched an eyebrow, struck curious by her choice of words: "And asinine? My my, that is quite the word to use." Solomon sips at his glass, chuckling softly, "Are you sure you are as 'unsophisticated' as you say you are? That sort of language belongs in a Victorian novel, don't you think?~ Maybe some tea will help level out your ideas, miss Eldritch."

The woman stiffened slightly, her bare shoulders scrunching up a bit at his notice of her vocabulary. She feared that she accidentally offended him with the language (as tame as it was). However, she relaxed a bit at his explanation. "Perhaps I picked it up from reading so many books. It's normally what I get as gifts so they began to stack up." She would give a shy smile of sorts before looking up to meet his gaze.

"Oh so you read." What a thing to say, he sounded like he was questioning why the sky was blue. Or why there were fish in the water. Or why snow fell when the clouds got dark and it was cold outside. The Darkrai was quite surprised, but he chuckled softly, "A woman who reads, how extraordinary. You haven't any glasses, I'd have expected that. Full of surprises then, aren't you?" He met her gaze full on, either being extremely cocky or utterly attuned to their conversation. Perhaps it was both.

Ericka would blink at what he said. Despite his appearance, the man was a bit odd to say the least. "I wouldn't call that something extraordinary. It's completely ordinary." She cocked her head to the side, having trouble reading the man completely. "And no I don't wear glasses, however, my vision isn't perfect." She would glance to the table before turning slightly to retrieve a blueberry tart with a sliced strawberry on top. "And you? Do you fancy yourself in literature?" She would question, taking a bite out of the treat.

"Hardly. Reading was fun at some point in time, but as one grows older, the same plots come up again and again and again." He turned so as to give her a side-ways glance, sipping his 'tea' again. "It gets dreadfully boring, and predictable. Hardly anything can surprise me anymore, miss Eldritch~" The point about her glasses though, he'd concede. Maybe she did read more than he first thought she did. How curious. "Everyone is a little bit extraordinary, it's how it evens out for everyone to be nothing but ordinary actually."

"I suppose you can make anyone seem interesting if you say things like tha-" she stiffened shortly and quickly looked to where the noise came from, spotting the flask slow to a stop not too far from her. She followed the trail to two quiet men. By there expressions they had to be the culprits. She returned her gaze to him and cleared her throat shortly. "I could recommend a book to you if you can't find anything interesting?"

"Oh, don't fiddle yourself with that m'dear. It's really no big deal. Can't get a wizened old man to change his spots, you know? Or was that Liepard? All analogies are the same at some point." He twirls his long fingers in his tie, pretending to loosen it. "Now--" And there it was, the flask hitting the tiled floor. The Darkrai looked over, eyes narrowing by a fraction. But, as he could see no damage done, not even a scruff mark, he left it alone. "And it's not that I cannot find anything interesting, it's more of I have not been looking. There is a difference, m'dear~"

"I suppose I'll leave it at that then, not my place to push my interests on another." She would finish off the tart on hand, taking a moment to chew and note the tiny degree his eyes narrowed at the small interruption. She reminded herself not to do anything rash, he seemed to be a picky one. "What do you do to pass the time then if you don't read books, Throw extravagant parties like these?" He must be rich if that was the case, spending money just by having too much.

"All the time? Where would one find the guests?" Solomon laughed heartily at the idea, turning to give her a look with an arched brow. "I do all sorts of things in the business. Tearing down corporations, building the ones I lead up, hardly simple work. This--" He gestured to the grandeur of the banquet hall, "Is a bit of fun. Something to pick up the holiday spirits, as you will." A thought occurs to him, and he looks at her with an something close to pitying-look, "But be honest with me, are you enjoying yourself?"

Ericka stared at him a bit at the cheerful tone he used in the sentence involving 'Tearing down corporations', yet couldn't help but crack a smile. "Well thank you for this party then, it definitely had me something to look forward too." she spoke honestly, keeping herself from reaching for another treat just for the sake of eating. That's how she makes her jeans magically go down a size in the washer. She perked up slightly at his sudden expression, curious as what he was to say next. "Enjoying myself?" Her amber eyes met his own "Well...It's not that I am not enjoying myself, so I guess I am? Though the response may have been different if you had not come to introduce yourself to me" she gave a smile and a playful wink to him to follow up what she said.

"Now if that's so...think I can get you to converse with some others, or will I need to push you towards some others. A gracious host hardly focuses on one guest, you know." Returning the wink with one of his own, he set down his glass with one of the passing waiters. "Come on, I'm sure you'll be charming with others as well."

Ericka clenched her jaw slightly at his notion to throw her into the fray of other people. She wasn't too fond of it, but she also wasn't too fond of the idea of being alone the entire time. "If you want to get rid of me, all you have to do is say~" she would joke before nodding, giving an actual response this time. "I think I can manage myself 'Soloman King', though I thank you for the offer and conversation."

[Hearts King Mr Mount, Mr Icarus Ashford, and Mr Gin Lockwood meet for Tea]

Icarus nearly jumped out of his skin when his name was called. His shoulders hunched and his tail floofed up, the boy looking around almost frantically for a moment before noticing someone was walking over to him. Realizing that they were approaching from the boss table - and feeling pretty certain the buff person was his own boss - Icarus was mostly sure he knew who it was. Smiling and holding up a hand in greeting, the pup nodded his confirmation, before a thought occurred to him. Hadn't this guy been rather uncomfortable around him? Maybe something else had been on his mind. He seemed upset when they'd last spoken. About what he wasn't entirely sure. ...Wait, stop thinking so much, there's a real person approaching. Putting a cube-shaped lump of cake in his mouth to give the pretext he wasn't lost in silly thoughts, Icarus then turned to Mount again. After swallowing, he said, "You can call me Icarus, Sir! Mr. Ashford's my dad," he joked. Cliche joke.

"Mr Ashford--now where'd I hears dat a'fore?" Decidedly mask-less, the Moltres let out a booming laugh. "I see youse got'chur hands on de desserts. Eat anythin' good?" He himself hadn't tried much of the food. Between distrusting the Darkrai and seeing how many sweets were available, hell, he could practically turn diabetic just by looking at all the sugar! "Youse wants some tea? They's gots a lotta tea. And I mean a lot."

"Yes! The cheesecake and strawberry shortcake and Snowpoint chocolate cake are to die for," Icarus replied, bouncing a bit on his feet. He hadn't even eaten much yet and he already seemed to have a sugar high. Icarus peeked around the man upon his mentioning the tea. He didn't usually drink tea - mostly because he didn't have a teapot and microwaving water gave it a distinctly weird flavor. "I don't see why I shouldn't try it!" He chirped, "Do you have any suggestions? I'm not a tea connoisseur, by any means." He admitted, scratching the back of his head with a sheepish grin. He was an adult now, and he'd always thought adults were supposed to love tea and coffee... He had failed to 'get into' either of them.

"Uh, try the black stuff. I dun drink much tea neither." Coffee on the other hand, black was good. For him. Strong and straight to the point. He never saw a need to dilute it with sugar or crème, but...if Mr Mount was honest, he didn't know what sort of fancy beans or methods for coffee-making were involved. Were coffee and tea the same? Eh. Give or take. "C'mon, drinks are o'er 'ere." If it wasn't such a classy event, he'd have asked for some drink to be diluted in vodka. Go strong or go home, that's how it was.

"Okayokay," Icarus replied. Not in an impatient or exasperated way, but an excited, ready-to-go sort of way. Upon reaching the table with all the tea - teas? - he began to examine them carefully. Trying not to be overtly rude, he used a hand to waft the individual aromas of the various drinks over to him, his nose twitching as he took quick sniffs. A bit later, he found one he seemed to like. Dried payap and razz and some other berries with the tea leaves, giving it a tart, but sweet scent. "This one smells like candy," Icarus observed as he poured himself a cup, his tail wagging behind him, a few strands of fur fluttering to the floor. Good thing he wasn't wearing a black suit - his pale tail had left quite a bit of stray hairs on his rear, and black pants would have made him look rather silly.

The shiftry arrived at the ballroom somewhat later than the others, dressed in a black suit, dress pants, shirt and of course his finest shoes for such occasions while sporting a green tie to break the monotone of his outfit. Man unfamiliar faces but some were known to him. However the aroma of tea tickled his nostrils and seeing he had not had his afternoon tea yet, now was a good of a time as any to have it. Sauntering off towards the table that held his favored beverage in the morning and afternoon; he would look over the selection to see what struck his fancy.

Mr Mount had less sense to do what the Arcanine had done, and simply grabbed a random pot and poured himself a cuppa. And hello, another person joins them at the tea table. He greets the Shiftry with a grin, "Hello there! Youse dress'd to the nines, aren't youse sir. Want some tea?" He offered the pot he was holding, still having absolutely no idea that its contents were jasmine with a hint of mint leaves. A green and green tea, and not the usual sort of combination...

" I whiddled that I should at least dress properly, lest I want to seem like a complete ruffman and get myself milled for it " the man would respond to the other before nodding at his most gracious offer of tea, " I most certainly would love some tea to quench my pallet " and the Jasmine scented tea pot seemed like a fine starter for the day. Carefully he'd take the pot from his hand so he could pour himself a cup.

"Heh. I'm itchin' udder did shirt meself. Ain't me usual wear t'all." There was a reason he went without a bowtie or necktie or anything 'round his thickly corded muscular neck: it just wouldn't look right, and it'd choke him. Mr Mount nodded at the Shiftry's choice, and took a sip of his own cup--dang, who put dirt in here? But to keep from making a fuss, he swallowed it down with a second, larger gulp. Drained it, and set it on a cup...saucer thingy. Add in a sigh of relief, "Damn, dat's some good tea." _It really sucked,_ is what his false-white grin said.

Gin had already put milk and sugar in his own brew while the other gulped down the liquid like it was nobodies business before letting out a chuckle, " Your expression would tell me a different story " and he would take a sip from the tea before his expression would turn to that of a forcefull smirk, " And I think I know why.....gods damn me " whomever had brewed this tea should be shot for such a crime against all tea kind. " I think I need an earl gray to wash this taste down "

"Agreed." Least this guy cut to the quick, Mr Mount looked over to Icarus, rapping his knuckles on the tea-table trying to get the Arcanine's attention. "Mr Ashford! How's your tea? Yours any good?" And then it sunk in: he had no idea what the frick an Early Gray was, or is. But if it's tea, it was probably somewhere on this table. The teapots appeared to be refilled every ten or so minutes with hot water, if not replaced entirely. What a waste of hot water and tea leaves (but it was, unknown to him, good for preserving the taste and freshness of the tea).

Gin wanted to say something before turning towards the sound of something metallic hitting the floor as he was about to pour some tea for himself and wondered who was going to get milled first. Eventually his eyes were set onto the two silent men that had guilty written all over their expressions and wondered what sort of bickering went on in the background that lead up to this. However, he shrugged and started to pour his tea as it was a them problem and not a him problem.

[The Story of the Flask]

Figures that the man interested in the flask, and making his way towards it, would be none other than the revitalizing force behind La-Pokafe. Mr Gotts had abruptly cut off Ms Pisces, jumped out of his seat, and made to pick up the offending flask. He didn't know to whom the flask belonged to, but it had to be someone within this small party of guests.

Zeph slowly slid down in his seat as Lunis went bright pink to match his eyes. "See what you get us into??" Lunis hissed glaring at Zeph who seemed to be trying to imitate a dugtrio.

Brooke flinched again. She reached out and gently placed a hand on Lunis' shoulder.
"Lunis, it's okay. I'll go get it, alright? We shouldn't make it more of a scene than it already is."

"scene making is in our blood, our mother does opera" Zeph said cooly before going back to sinking under the table, having a hard job of it due to his long legs. Lunis sighed "just...do it" he covered his face in his hands.

Looking around, the Arceus tsked his tongue quietly. Now who looked unoccupied and possibly guilty...ah, the party of three over there. Briskly walking over, he smiled graciously to the two--er, one--ghost and water-mouse. "Why hello. Does this belong to any of you fine guests?" He shined his pearly whites in a smile. He got this. He could play host.

Percy perked slightly at the sound, though her attentipn mostly focused on the tea "my my, we arent even that far into this party and theres already clamity" she giggled. Humming as she gently leaned back into robin. Her tail swished over his legs as she bumped him softly, giving a wink "you should introduce me to some of your friends and co-workers. Might be interesting to meet them~"

Taking a deep breath, Brooke walked up to the Arceus.
"That's my friend's, sir." She did her best to stay calm as she spoke to him, "He's a bit embarrassed so, may I please be the one to give it back to him?"

"Now that is an option. Though, I'd have to warn you my boss seems to be busy grilling someone else." The Gardevoir subtly gestured to Mr Gotts, before chuckling and surveying the ballroom. Not even half-filled, and little pockets of people here and there. "Hm, we could talk to these gentlemen about the tea. Mr Mount seems to be ah...enjoying himself, I think." As for Gin, he gave a small wave. If he wasn't mistaken, the last they'd spoken was during the Shiftry's interview, quite some time ago now. "Mind if we join you two for a chat? You both seem to be having quite the experience."

"Is it now? And you are miss..." Really, whose bright idea was it to not have name tags at this affair. It was horrible! "And I could do that, but I'd like to hand it back myself. I promise I won't bite." Again, he smiles.

Zeph let out a low evil laugh as Lunis started to sink down next to him. First his brother wanted to mortify him and now Mr. Gotts himself had picked up on it. Kill him. Just. Kill him. Actually no. Kill Zeph first....oh wait then who would feed sweets? Lunis stared at his hands as he considered murder

Brooke waited patently before trying again.
"I think I need to get back to my friend's before they completely melt down."

[Diamonds Queen Ms Pisces and Mr Ren Bisset]

Surprisingly, guests were still coming through the door, and among them was one no one really expected to come. Or even existed for that matter. A rather dapper Ivysaur entered the establishment, fixing his cuffs and adjusting his green paisley tie to his black pinstriped suit. This wasn't even considered fancy for Ren, this was his normal attire, the man having a weakness for suits in general. His eyes brightened at the sight of the tabled donned with teapots and cups alike, being the primary reason why he came in the first place. Mother insisted her socialized more, so he assumed this was the best option for the time. He adjusted his black boater hat which was garnished with a large pink flower to contain the fluffiness that was his pink hair, before stepping over to the table to treat himself.

With no one at the bosses' table and a severe feeling of being in the spotlight as a result, Ms Pisces left her table in favour of greeting the newest guest. She vaguely recognized the Ivysaur (and why wouldn't she? When Mr Gotts hardly did any work, it was a wonder he even knew the names of his employees. Pushing all off on her, that man was a waste of resources), and briskly offered a hand to him. "Mr Bisset, how timely of you. Will you be staying long?" ...Ah. Socializing, how did one--

Ren had his sights set on the tea table, making the calmest B-line to it as he could. However, he was intercepted by someone he couldn't just brush off to the side. "Ms. Pisces?" He would say a bit surprised at her so suddenly approaching him before taking her hand to shake firmly. Not to mention she knew his name. "My apologies, I didn't mean to come off as rude if I did, I just didn't expect this greeting." he would give a nervous chuckle before responding to her question "I suppose that depends on how good the tea is." He would laugh slightly. Even so to him, that was not a joke in the slightest.

"Don't worry about it. And if the tea is good?" She'd had a cup of something with vanilla, and that was it. To be honest, the Feebas didn't know what she had, but did that matter? Cut and straight to the point: "The tarts and cake slices are alright, if you'd care to try them."

Tarts and cakes? He would expand his gaze out towards the other tables that were not covered in normal tea objects to notice the lovely banquet of sweet treats set out. Maybe he would stay if the tea was bad, considering if it didn't offend him badly enough. How could you screw up tea though? He would do his best to ignore the fact that his mind began to list off the long list of reasons, wanting to respond to the diamond's boss. "I will certainly have to try them given the opportunity. This gathering is starting to become something I would likely throw had I gathered the money...however it is a bit quiet in the musical department..." he would admit, his tone lingering with a bit of disappointment.

[The CEO of La-Pokafe, an Employed College Student, and an Annoyed Resturant-Manager at the Party]

Taking one look at his card, Mr Gotts chuckled. It was positively inappropriate, so he planned on re-wording his. Dressed in his usual immaculate white suit, the only difference from his usual wear would be the fact that his entire outfit was white. He looked about the room, trying to find a guest or two on their lonesome. It would be a delight to talk to someone new this afternoon.

Dressed in a baby blue jacket with a white under top, a black skirt and some tan leggings, Rosalie entered the banquet room with a small spring I’m her step. The atmosphere felt wonderful as she looked around the big room. A lovely winter paradise if you asked her.

Seeing a chance, the Arceus made his way towards the Pidgeot. "Good afternoon miss. A little late but present for the party~"

“Im sorry that I’m a little tardy but i am still glad to be here none the less.” She smiles at the Arceus. “This set up is quite amazing; I absolutely love the decor.”

"As long as you are here, tardiness doesn't matter." He gestures to the tarts and cakes, offering to give her a little tour. "The decorations are nothing compared to these scrumptious treats. You should try some of these~"

“Don’t mind if i do.” She nods her head and picks up a small plate holding a strawberry tart. She takes a small bite and almost chirps from how delicious the flavor is. “You are right, these treats are absolutely delectable.”

"But of course. No less from the richest man in the city." He could roll his eyes at that almost, but that Darkrai did like being praised in his space. Mr Gotts was merely doing him a favour really.

“Richest man in the city? Oh you’re talking about King Solomon. I have heard a little bit about him but i don’t really know anything else.” She soon takes another bite of her tart and her smile grows wider, “He has my thanks though, This party is quite lovely to be at.”

"Ah, Mr King is not one to be talked about. He does enough of that on his own." He then offers a hand to her, "But where are my manners? Godwin Gotts, from Life's Joy. "

“Its pleasure to meet you Mr.Gotts, Im Rosalie Tailwind from Winter’s Wonderland. I work their as an icing decorator.” She takes his hand gently and shakes it

"Oh, and no word of thanks? I'll go right on ahead and say 'you're welcome'." He chuckled, giving her a firm shake. "It's nice to see our specialty positions are filled in~"

“Oh sorry.” The bird chuckles sheepishly, “Thank you.” She pulled her hand away after a moment and took another bite of her tart. “You’re the king of Life’s Joy, right?”

"You're welcome." He repeated, just a tad smug. "And that I am. Though in business terms, I would be the CEO of the La-Pokafe company."

“Thats really cool.” she muses and finishes up the tart, “Thats a really high title to hold in the business world i think. I remember learning that in one of my college classes.”

He arches an eyebrow, but lets the comment by, "Something like that. Would you like some tea? To wash down the treats." Mr Gotts smiled graciously.

“I would love some, thank you.” she smiles

"Right this way then~" Leading her to the table with the assorted teas and ever-present hot kettles, he had to blink back surprise to see Ms Pisces there as well. The Arceus then remembered his less than stellar ah, get-away tactic just a short half-hour before. The Feebas did not look pleased, but that was rather commonplace.

“Hello Ms. Pisces,” Rosalie greeted with a warm smile before making her self a cup of tea carefully, “Would you like me to pour you a cup of tea?”

"Ah, miss Tailwind. And no thank you, I've already got a cup." And she had, though the finishing touches would be adding a sugar cube and a dash of cream.
"Ah, Aphra. Why must you look so grouchy today? You really should relax." Mr Gotts did not look one bit perturbed by the glare he received for his statement, smile ever-present.

Rosalie added two sugars to her own tea and a dash of cream before looking at Godwin, “Would you like me to make you a cup of tea Mr. Gotts?”

"Thank you for offering, miss Rosalie. But I find tea is not to my liking." He shrugs his shoulders a little, "Unfortunately, but thank you for offering!~"
"Excuse me." The Feebas huffed, she made no other gesture of leaving the conversation. She'd yet to look at her own conversation card, and if Ms Pisces knew anything about the host--she was doubtful it'd have anything helpful written upon it.

“Alright.” she smiles before blowing lightly on her tea and sipping it. When she heard Ms. Pisces speak up she turned her attention back to her boss before looking back at the Arceus who she assumed her boss was still talking to.

"So..." He brought out his card, the conversation starter, and tapped it against the tea-table. "Do you mind if I guess at your hobbies, miss Rosalie?~"

“I do not mind at all, go ahead Mr. Gotts.” She sips her tea once more after nodding

"Do you like playing checkers by any chance? Baking cakes maybe?"

“Its been awhile since i have played checkers but i love to bake.” She answers, “Baking is one of my regular hobbies so i can practice my icing skills.”

"Ah, so...do you, or do you not play checkers on a regular basis?" He laughed softly, knowing he walked right into that one. Baking, icing, different skills and all that

“I don’t play checkers on a regular basis.” she replies, “The only checker board i have owned i left back at home with my folks.”

"Ah, so you moved out to work in the city? How long has it been, a few years surely?"

“Well i moved into a  dorm when i turned 18 and started attending college. I am a freshman in college after all so its mandatory. So its only been about a year.”

Now didn't that take him for a spin, she looked a little older than she actually was--but he wouldn't say that outloud. He was respectful, after all. "I see. And you've been able to keep up with your school-work while employed with us?"
