Certainly not one to bring much notice to himself, Ivan smiles and waves to others; and hardly says a word unless directly spoken to. Disliking interactions with strangers, he keeps his opinions to himself even if he believed his own thoughts to be helpful to others. In being quiet, he has more opportunities to observe and think, analyzing situations and scenarios within his head. He puts great value in his trust of others, finding little reason to believe in the good of poke-people kind due to inherent selfishness. Nevertheless, he does not judge solely on this preconception of other people—but first impressions are very important to him.
Privately (very much inside his head), he is driven to great lengths by his emotional moods: When he is happy, he can conquer the world, nothing can stop him from his goals; when he is insulted, he clams up, throwing out signals of “go away” and becomes down-right nasty; when sad, he is utterly dejected, and finds little worth in doing any sort of thing; when curious, there is nothing that can prevent him from investigating something that aroused his curiosity (other than a change of moods and intrigue). He is well aware of his achievements and sets goals for self-improvement—which are rarely acted upon.
Raised by a single mother in Fallarbor Town, he never saw heads or tails of his Salamance father. It wasn’t an utterly stressed upon detail in his development, so Ivan believes; there is little need for a father in the current day and age. His mother was certainly a successful small-time business manager and he had his own hobbies and plenty of family support: just why would he need a father of all things? The absence of such a figure during parent-night interviews was certainly felt though, even if his uncle opted to be “Mr Ocanah” his father.
As Ivan climbed the education ladder from kindergarten to elementary, middle school and highschool: he had to admit he felt pretty left out once his mother became busier and his uncle was forced to move to another region looking for a new job. With little-to-few friends in his school, he drifted away from them due to the melancholic cloud hanging over his head from his crumbling family support. Entering his second year of highschool, none of his previous “chums” would give him a second glance should he wave or shout their names in the hallways. With little left other than music to occupy his free time, he started to question his existence. At the end of the school year, he attempted suicide.
Waking up in the pokecenter, Ivan was given anti-depressant medication and subjected to psychiatric therapy sessions, on arrangements made by his mother. While he harboured little emotion on her decisions, he despaired at the growing feeling of distance from his parent. It persisted until he calmly told her during one of her visits that he would like to go to another high school: anywhere but the one he was in before. He packed his bags by the end of the week and flew to Sinnoh to attend PGA.
5’9” in height and 150lbs. His mother Sarah is a Flygon, and his known family are all of the Flygon evolution line. Musically inclined, he loves music that are soft and “strong” in tune. Likes to run around in forests. Enjoys adventure books and herbal tea. His scarf is super long, it was knitted by his grandmother--who he visits as she has made her home in Eterna City, Sinnoh. He dislikes nosy people, ice cubes in anything that he plans to drink, and spicy foods. He doesn't do well with hot-tempered people. He’s not sure of his sexuality, but he figures himself open to any sort of relationship He is still on anti-depressants, but he’s doesn’t follow his schedule of taking them daily Theme Song
